PIERRE D'AVESN - Vase à Poissons – 1930
Important vase with geometric fishes and shapes designed by Pierre d’Avesn (1901-1990), original name Pierre Gire, who was a brilliant glass designer and then active with a daughter company of Daum, Verrerie de Lorrain. At 14 years he started his career with René Lalique where he designed the fabulous Serpent vase. Later on he designed his own vases who were made by the Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy, he worked then for Daum and Verlys and produced his own pieces later again with the Verrerie de Choissy-le-Roi. End of the 40’s the latest became property of Sèvres for whom (and also for Vannes-le-Chalet) he continued designed until the 80’s.
