Stoneware covered by translucent salt glaze. At a 1300C° salt is added to the furnace creating sodium vapours that mixes with the clay silicates which forms sodium silicate or translucent salt glaze. (Grès salé grand feu). Described in book Au Gré du Grès De l’Art Nouveau à l’Art Déco - Edgard Aubry & Roger Guérin- p. 39 and 79. Taken up in catalogue d’exposition Art Déco Belgique, 1920-1940, Pierre Loze & Dominique Vautier, Bruxelles, Musée d’Ixelles, 1988, p. 159 and 264.
